Our interview with expert Theresa Le, from Le Creative Productions.
It's one of the most special days of your life (and trust us, it goes SO fast!), so it's only natural you want to re-live it over and over again. That's where a beautiful wedding video can help. Wedding videography is becoming increasingly popular with brides and grooms - and it's not hard to see why. From walking down the aisle, to the best man's speech - a videographer can capture every magical moment so you can look back on your big day for years to come.
We talked to one of the experts, Theresa from Le Creative Productions, about the key things to consider when hiring a wedding videographer and tips to creating the best footage.
Is a wedding videographer really worth the investment?
"Absolutely! You want to be able to watch over the most important day of your life when you’re older and share it with your children."
What are some of your favourite moments to capture on film, where photos just don’t do justice?
"I love capturing authentic, candid interactions such as smiles, laughs and happy tears."
What is the most important thing to consider when choosing a videographer?
"Make sure you check out their website and social media to see if their style suits your vision and end goal for the video."
What should couples keep in mind when incorporating a videographer into the event schedule?
"Weddings are super-fast paced, so it's important that things run to schedule and your videographer is given enough time to set up. Make sure to provide a run sheet of the day so they are across everything that is happening. It's also important that the MC works closely with us to communicate key events like the first dance and speeches ahead of time (at least 5 minutes) so cameras can be set up in advance and ready to shoot!"
"Most couples hire videographers for the whole day to ensure every amazing moment is captured, however we do offer customised packages if there are only specific parts of the wedding you want filmed."
How many videographers should you expect on the day and how soon in advance do couples need to book?
"There are usually two videographers and I recommend you book as soon as possible so you don't miss out on your favourite videographer."
What is the average starting cost and what can you expect from the final video?
"Starting price is from $3,000 - our packages include a 1 minute teaser and a 4-5 minute highlight video. The turnaround time is around 2 months.
NO14 Extra Tips:
To create your most natural and authentic video - try to forget your videographer is there! Live in the moment and enjoy your wedding day!
Prepare a list of moments you want captured and provide it to your videographer before the wedding so nothing is missed.
Make sure your bridal party is aware a videographer will be present and encourage them to interact so you can create the best footage possible.
If your budget allows, at No14 we love working with videographers and think they are a great inclusion you won't regret! Weddings go so quickly and a videographer allows you to see your special day from different perspectives and enjoy moments you may have missed, e.g. your future husband/wife getting ready and the guests arriving.
